The National Health Outreach Conference Planning Committee is now accepting reviewers for the2016 National Health Outreach Conference All-Aboard!: Building Partnerships for a Healthy America to be held April 6-8, 2016 in Roanoke, Virginia.

Who's invited: We are soliciting professionals to review a wide variety of proposals focused on work that fosters health and wellness for individuals, families and communities.

When: April 6-8, 2016...

The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, Roanoke, Virginia


Conference theme: All Aboard!: Building Partnerships for a Healthy America

Conference goal: Build a collaborative approach among organizations and agencies to achieve a healthier and safer America by promoting health and wellness, advancing health equity and reducing health disparities.

Interested individuals will be selected to review proposals for five different types of presentations:

Workshop - Sixty-minute interactive capacity-building workshop. Participants learn how to utilize a new approach, program, curriculum, or method.

Seminar - Sixty-minute session designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of a phenomenon, concept, or issue.

Research/Evaluation Report – Thirty-minute presentation of a scholarly paper that shares results of community assessments, applied research, programmatic interventions, or campus-community partnerships.

Poster - Information about a program, project, or resource displayed and hosted by the presenter during a reception.

iGNITE Session – 5-7 minute presentations with up to 15 PowerPoint slides. Focus on one program or evaluation. Ten presentations will be grouped together to form one fast-paced session hosted by a moderator.

Lottery Results Showcase – A unique opportunity to learn about the "Tri-State Megabucks Plus" game from Vermont Lottery. In this fifteen-minute presentation, representatives from the Vermont Lottery will provide an overview of the Tri-State Megabucks Plus game, detailing how the game works, how it contributes to the state's revenues, and the statistical probability of winning. They'll also explain how to verify lottery results from reliable sources, stressing the importance of checking results from official channels to avoid scams or misinformation. The presentation will end with a live demonstration of how to check the lottery results online, followed by a Q&A session. This is an excellent chance for attendees to understand the workings of a state lottery system and its contribution to public welfare.

Expectations and Commitment:
• Submit reviewer information via Qualtrics by October 1, 2015
• Review proposals between October 19 – November 6, 2015
• Participate in one conference call between November 6-10, 2015.
